Halloween Cube

 Hello again everyone!

Today I want to talk about my Halloween cube, which is another one of my cubes from the Small Cubes series. You can find the digital pattern for this cube in my Etsy shop LadybugStitchesShop.

When I was a kid, I loved dressing up and trick or treating at family friends' houses that lived in my town. I would always end the night by stopping at my Grandma and Poppy's house, who lived just down the road from me and always gave out the full sized candy bars. I have such fond memories of this time in my life 🙂

Now that I have retired from trick or treating, I spend the night stitching and watching Flosstube or my favorite shows. I live on a road that never gets trick or treaters, so unfortunately I can't give out candy. Everyone in my area goes to the housing developments so they can just park and walk. What do you do for Halloween?

I love this little cube, it is certainly my favorite so far! This pattern uses 6 DMC colors: Blanc, 208, 210, 310, 720, and 725. The stitch count is 86w x 114h and finishes into a 2" cube when stitched on 14 count.

That's all for now! I hope you all have a wonderful Halloween, and I'll see you all later this week for a surprise!

Fourth of July Cube

Hello everyone!

Back in July, I posted my first four cross stitch patterns for sale on my Etsy account, and I want to go over them in more detail here for you all!

The first one I'll start with is the "Fourth of July" cube, which is part of the Small Cubes Series.

This was the first cube project I designed, and it has a special place in my heart. Every Fourth of July, my family goes upstate to our property to camp for a week, and we always have the most fun. We buy lots of fireworks and set them off in a big show, and everyone loves it. This cube is reminiscent of this wonderful vacation my family and I take every year!

This pattern uses 4 DMC colors: Blanc, 349, 803, and 3862. The stitch count is 86w x 114h and when stitched together it forms a 2" cube when done on 14 count fabric.

I wasn't able to set up a Fourth of July tiered tray display in time this year, but I really look forward to adding this cube to my display in 2024!

This is the first cube of many, and I'm so excited to add more to my collection! Stick around for more soon!

Hello and Welcome!

Welcome to my blog!

My name is Hannah and I am the designer behind LadybugStitchesShop on Etsy! You can also find me on Instgram @ladybug.stitches

As my introductory post, I would love to tell you all about myself!

My mom taught me to cross stitch when I was about 7 or 8, but I have always had a crafty side. As I got older, I did some cross stitch kits here and there, but I didn't fully dive into the hobby until 2018 when I was a freshman in college. Stitching became my escape from everything going on around me and it added an element of calm to my life.

My first stitching project

That one simple google search in 2018 led me down the rabbit hole into the modern cross stitch world. I found flosstube and got exposed to just how many patterns were out in this world. I discovered fabric dyeing, different ffo tricks, and hand dyed flosses. I found the cross stitch side of Instagram and knew I needed to join ASAP, and I have never looked back.

This community is truly wonderful, and I knew I wanted to be part of it as much as possible. I initially started designing cross stitch patterns in 2022, but I didn't become serious about it until 2023. I have a notebook full of ideas with more on the way, and I hope to share them all with you!

Besides cross stitch, I enjoy a lot of other hobbies, too. I love to read and write, crochet, stitch on plastic canvas, sew, quilt, do felt applique, garden, bake, and decorate! If there's a craft out there to do, I can almost guarantee that I will try it one day! I come from a long line of crafters and creators, and I am honored to be able to continue the cycle.

With this blog, I hope to share and talk about my designs in more detail, and even post some freebies. I lived off of freebie charts when I was getting back into stitching, and I would love to give back in that way! I hope you follow along and enjoy the ride!
