I'm back once again with another freebie! This piece is a stitched representation of one of my favorite childhood memories, one that many of you might be able to relate to in some way.
Growing up, I would spend many summer nights running through my grandpa's cornfield behind my house with my brothers and cousins, catching as many lightning bugs as we possibly could. We would see how long they would stay on our hands, almost as a competition to see which ones stayed the longest, and then we would bid them farewell as they flew away on their next adventure. Now, every time I see a lightning bug, I remember those nights and it always brings a smile to my face.
Sooo of course I had to stitch that memory!
I used a glow in the dark floss for the lightning bugs, as well as a glow in the dark paint for the finishing piece, which I think compliment the piece well. This was a super quick stitch, and I hope you all enjoy it as much as I do!
Happy stitching!
