Little Cam Freebie

Hello all!

I am finally getting around to posting this freebie, which I have stitched twice already! This freebie is called "Little Cam" and is done in honor of my family's rooster of the same name.

Little Cam was a rooster that was found wandering the woods of our local state park, hungry and without a home. My grandfather told my brother, the one who found Little Cam, to bring him to his farm so he would be safe and taken care of. Little Cam absolutely loved his new home; he got tons of free food and got to watch over all of the ladies he could ever want. He got his name from my grandfather, who started calling him Little Cam because of my brother who brought him home, Cameron.

Little Cam may have been half the size of all the other chickens, but he absolutely ruled the roost (or thought he did, at least!). He had his fun crowing straight into my ear, standing directly on top of the other chickens to see higher, and digging for bugs in the dirt. We absolutely loved having him on our farm, and miss his presence every day. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his girls, and was given a proper funeral in 2023.

I made this pattern to honor Little Cam, and am so happy to display him on my walls. If you're interested in stitching him, you can check out the pattern below!

Happy stitching!
